The Director of Health Equity Outcomes and Performance leads outcomes portfolio of programming for the IU Health Office of Health Equity Research and Engagement (HERE). This role oversees and coordinates outcome disparity performance improvement activities across the system, which currently focus on closing disparate performance in outcomes related to hypertension control, severe obstetrical complications, childhood immunization, and 30-day readmission, but may vary year to year. This role oversees the work of data scientists and data analysts who help identify outcome disparity and monitor our progress toward eliminating disparity. This Director will make data informed decisions, using data to identify drivers of disparity, developing performance improvement strategies and interventions to close identified disparity gaps; then leading teams to execute on those strategies and interventions. This role leads by influence to execute these strategies. This position leads the Health Equity Performance Improvement Council. The Director drives improvements in system performance on the Health Equity Quality Index and/or other prioritized disparity metrics. Director for Health Equity Outcomes will represent our clinical health equity efforts externally across the organization and in various internal leadership settings.
