Schedule: Either 4- tens (Mon-Thurs 8am-7pm) or 5-eights (Mon-Fri 8am-5pm)

Overview

The Therapist provides clinical recovery-focused services to clients with mental illness and substance abuse problems, if present. Performs diagnostic assessments and formulates diagnoses. Develops individual treatment plans in conjunction with the client and members of the treatment team. Completes treatment plan updates and assessment updates. Gives clinical direction to program staff. Utilizes appropriate evidence based practices. Provides and documents appropriate services. Utilizes Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) in delivery of client services. Options provides on the job training and supervision for FIT.

Responsibilities

Provides effective and efficient management of an appropriate sized caseload of clients. Size of caseload is based on additional responsibilities, clients' level of acuity, and agency need.

Maintains clinical responsibility for the counseling of clients who have a mental illness and substance abuse problems, if present.

Screens clients, performs assessments and assessment updates.

Develops and updates individual treatment plans in collaboration with the treatment team and clients.

Develops and maintains therapeutic client relationships with close adherence to client-directed services.

Provides timely accurate documentation -including diagnostic assessment and, treatment planning - using appropriate psychosocial terminology that meets or exceeds billing criteria. May act as primary chart manager and must adhere to OARs and standards of care.

Assesses symptoms and manages immediate crisis including danger to self or others, and implements crisis intervention plan if necessary.

Implements treatment planning goals, utilizing program-specific evidence based practices.

Provides clinical direction to QMHA-Ievel staff (case managers, skills trainers, mental health associates).

Works collaboratively with schools and other community resources to help clients with social development, housing needs, accessing employment and other income resources, and medical coverage. These resources may include- but are not limited to-family, HUD and Social Security.

Qualifications

This position requires a Master's degree in a behavioral science, an understanding of co-occurring disorders, and related experience.

Experience with substance abuse treatment for dually diagnosed clients preferred.

Must be a QMHP on the Mental Health & Addictions Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) registry.

OR

Must be registered as a licensure intern with the State of Oregon or be licensed in Oregon as an LMFT, LCSW, LPC or clinical Psychologist.

In order to avoid potential conflict of interest, applicants for this position cannot have received services from Options for Southern Oregon within the last 12 months.

Candidates must be able to use e-mail, compose documents, save and locate documents electronically, and learn to use our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Proficiency in Word and other MS Office applications preferred.

Must pass state-required background and DMV checks; possess a valid OR driver's license and a satisfactory driving record. Candidate must be able to work independently and flexibly, under general supervision.
