Employee Relations Specialist

The Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for the development and administration of the employee relations program and employee advocacy. This position interfaces with employees, leadership and educational institutions.
Will participate and maintain a culture within The Corvallis Clinic consistent with the content outlined in the Service and Behavioral Standards Caregiver Handbook. To this end, employee will be expected to read, have familiarity, and embrace the principles contained within.
Together with the Employment Specialist will ensure all requisitions and open positions are processed in a timely manner within The Clinic. Review all internal and external applications for qualifications and distribute to the appropriate manager/supervisor.
Coordinate and oversee the new employee orientation process and participate in the human resources procedural training of new Clinic supervisors and managers.
Oversees the career/education development and internal recruiting efforts within the organization.
Manages all non-clinical student placement for interns, job shadows and rotations.
Helps administer annual compliance training through HealthStream Education platform for all departments.
Develops and guides the mentoring program for new hire employee through their first 90 days of employment.
Conducts exit interviews, summarizes findings, and discusses trends and concerns with senior management.
Revise and maintain all job descriptions, HR policies and Employee Handbook.
In partnership with the Director of Human Resources assists with employee relations activities such as anniversary celebrations, employee of the month program, employee appreciation day and other events as needed.
Cross train and successfully act as backup for all Human Resource positions when necessary.
Education, licensure and experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Human Resources experience in a healthcare environment in a similar role.
SHRM professional certification preferred.
Three to five years of previous experience in healthcare or other similar professional organization.
