DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: The Assistant Nurse Manager works on various units throughout St. Charles Health System. These departments provide 24/7 specialized care to patients throughout their hospitalization and discharge.

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Assistant Nurse Manager Inpatient Behavioral Health and Psychiatric Emergency Services is responsible for providing support and managerial assistance to the Nurse Manager by managing daily unit operations that include: Staffing and scheduling; orientation and on-boarding; education and competency assessment; budget monitoring; maintaining and establishing patient care standards; promoting evidence-based practice. Implements quality and safety initiatives, engages in process improvement, ensures adherence to bargaining unit agreements and human resource management. The Assistant Nurse Manager applies standards for professional nursing practice and focuses clinical care to enhance the experience for patients, families, and all others while functioning in alignment with the Leadership approach of St. Charles Health System. The Assistant Nurse Manager creates and sustains a patient care environment that supports a safe, knowledgeable, compassionate, productive, and engaged caregivers. The Assistant Nurse Manager is an additional resource and support for the unit caregivers and departmental operations. This position directly manages caregivers in acute care departments throughout the system.

Required: As required by RN licensure.
Preferred: BSN


Required: Current Oregon RN license.
AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification.
Preferred: Certification in area of specialty preferred.


Required: Three years clinical nursing experience.
One year of leadership experience.
Preferred: Two years of leadership experience in health care organization.


Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely.
